Privacy Policy

Overview

ARIL Full is a native macOS client: chat content, preferences, and API keys stay on your Mac. ARIL Cloud is a hosted browser product: account data and encrypted project blobs live on the Cloud API host; you unlock projects with a password you control. Both products send prompts and (when you use Voice or Talk) audio to the AI providers you configure with bring-your-own keys.

Data stored on your Mac (Full)

• Session history, preferences, and spend totals in Application Support
• API keys in local preferences / Keychain as configured by the app
• Optional Learning / judgement data used only on this Mac

Uninstalling the app or clearing Application Support removes this local data. Backups (Time Machine, etc.) may retain copies until those backups expire.

ARIL Cloud

• Account email and authentication data on the Cloud API host
• Encrypted project documents (AES-256, password-wrapped) — plaintext is not stored for unlocked retrieval without your unlock password
• Session and activity metadata required to operate Chat, Talk, email, and schedules
• BYOK provider keys you save in Settings (stored for your account on the Cloud host)

Deleting your account or projects removes associated Cloud records subject to operational backups retained for a limited recovery window.

AI providers you connect

When you chat, use Voice (Full), or Talk (Cloud), content is sent to the services you enable:

• OpenRouter — text chat, routing helpers, optional web search
• OpenAI — Realtime Voice / Talk audio and related transcripts when used
• xAI — optional Grok realtime for Talk when configured

Those providers process data under their own privacy policies. ARIL does not receive a copy of that traffic beyond what remains in your session history (local for Full; on the Cloud host for Cloud).

macOS permissions (Full)

• Microphone — Voice conversations and prompt dictation
• Speech recognition — turning dictated speech into editable text (system frameworks)
• Files you choose — attachments and exports via the system file panels
• Network — contacting OpenRouter, OpenAI, Stripe (optional Support ARIL), and related HTTPS endpoints

Permissions can be changed in System Settings → Privacy & Security. Cloud uses browser microphone / camera permissions when you enable Talk.

Optional purchases

ARIL Full may offer optional support levels through Stripe Payment Links. Checkout and payment details are handled by Stripe. After payment, ARIL confirms your support tier with a small verifier on aril.host and stores that cosmetic status locally. ARIL does not receive your card details.
